Virginia Tech’s 18-month Executive MBA is designed to prepare experienced managers for the business challenges of today and tomorrow.
With strategic leadership and experiential learning as cornerstones of the curriculum, the Executive MBA program emphasizes the key areas of business intelligence and analytics, innovation and entrepreneurship, leadership and governance, and global business. The latter two areas are also the foundation of two residencies — opening and international — that provide you with a unique and valuable worldview that will help guide your future as a leader.
Courses are taught by Executive MBA faculty who are experienced practitioners and at the forefront of research on emerging issues and technologies in their field. You will gain not only current insight into private and public industry, government, and entrepreneurial solutions, but also real-world experience as you apply these insights through thoughtfully designed experiential modules.
The program is also structured to fit your life. You will meet for in-person class weekends (Friday and Saturday) every other week, with seasonal breaks during the winter and summer. The intensive class weekends and virtual collaboration between sessions allow you to continue your full-time role, balance your personal life, and still earn your MBA in 18 months. Classes take place at the conveniently located, state-of-the-art Virginia Tech Research Center in the Ballston district of Arlington.
A hallmark of the Executive MBA program is the cohort-based format. With easy transport links to Washington, D.C. and the Dulles Technology Corridor, the program enrolls an exclusive group of students from a cross section of the region’s key industries. Students in the cohort take classes in lockstep throughout the duration of the program, allowing you to build meaningful professional relationships with your peers.
When you earn an Executive MBA from Virginia Tech, you join the vast Virginia Tech alumni network and Hokie Nation. With more than 100,000 alumni in the Mid-Atlantic Region alone, Virginia Tech provides you with the extended professional network you need to achieve your career goals both now and in the future.
